Christmas Eve Offering Update

Written by the Go Team

If you missed it, Gateway Church was able to provide CHOPIN (Christians Helping Other People In Need) Hall with a generous Christmas gift of $25,000! Ron Rooker, the executive director of CHOPIN Hall, expressed his gratitude for this gift. The money will be used to purchase food from the West Ohio Food Bank for their mobile food pantries held throughout the year, as well as for daily food giveaways held at their facility. He mentioned that he believes their numbers could reach one million pounds of food needed for the upcoming year to have enough for all of their events.

Last year, Gateway Church participated in five mobile food pantries held at their campuses and helped feed 928 families by distributing 70,400 pounds of food. Thank you for your financial generosity and for your time in these outreach opportunities. Without your support, we could not have done it. We are planning to hold six mobile food pantries this year, so keep an eye out for these opportunities to serve and partner with CHOPIN Hall.

Additionally, if you're interested in donating clothing, food, or personal care items, please contact Ron to see what the specific need might be for that week. They are always looking for volunteers to help at the center, so if you or your Life Group are looking for a serving opportunity, please consider reaching out. Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus and for your willingness to GO and serve right here in Findlay.

CHOPIN Hall was only half of our 2023 Christmas Eve Offering. We also had the privilege of extending more than $25,000 to the Member Care Fund of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church’s World Outreach mission. This fund allows member care counselors and coaches to come alongside God’s workers in crisis around the globe. Many of these are in extremely stressful and sometimes dangerous places. This gift will go a long way to provide for essential travel, materials and counseling so that the workers can flourish and remain where God placed them to represent Jesus to the unreached. Here is what the Director of World Outreach Member Care had to say after hearing about this gift.

We are overwhelmed with the generosity of Gateway Church, and we can't thank you enough! We really want you to know how thankful we are to partner with such a remarkable congregation - whose desire it is to see God's kingdom built, the life-changing story of Jesus shared, and those serving Him across the globe well cared for. This contribution will allow us to provide the care our World Outreach workers need and deserve so they can remain Healthy, Effective, and On the Field! Please communicate to Pastor Josh and all our friends at Gateway our sincere THANK YOU and deep-felt gratitude!

Thank you for participating in both of these significant gifts to our partners!
