Corporate Prayers February 2024

2.11.24

Loving God, you alone are the Creator and Sustainer of all things, and we bring you all of our prayers and praises this morning. We praise your glorious name, the Maker and Creator of all things. Father, you love us with a far better love than any we could ever know here on earth, and we stand in awe of your power and commitment to cherish us. Yet even though we have tasted your goodness, we are people who would rather trust in ourselves. We place our hope in our own talents and abilities, in relationships with people we admire and love, in our jobs and good health, in our economic value and academic abilities. We even place our hope in spiritual disciplines, and our own spiritual practices that we falsely think will merit more favor from you. Father, we are worshipers of ourselves, and we find our hearts at unrest when we discover that we cannot save ourselves in any way. Jesus, if you had not lived a perfect life for us, we could never have hope or peace. You trusted your Father throughout your lifetime and into your undeserved death. Thank you for suffering the many agonies of life in a fallen world on our behalf, and for remaining faithful and obedient in temptation, grief and loss. Your glowing obedience and perfect righteousness are the strong foundation for all our hope and peace. We marvel that you would consider us a joy worth suffering for, and we bow humbly before you and offer you our praise, our thanks, and our very lives. Holy Spirit, teach us to be still and know that you are God and we are not. Please give us true grief for the many ways we sin against you, and fill us with repentance and hope in you. Open our blinded eyes to see clearly your faithfulness and power; your great love and unending patience; your relentless determination to pursue us, captivate us, and ravish us with the truth of the gospel. Show us the unstoppable love of our Savior, who was stricken for our sin, and who stands in heaven as our powerful Advocate. Help us to align our hearts and our minds with yours so that we may rightly glorify you alone as we seek to be a light in the darkness. We love you and we ask all of these things in the beautiful Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

2.18.24

Father God, thank you for this day. Thank you for this place to worship you freely. Forgive us for our sins, Lord. Wash us of the things that we do that are against your design. Father, we praise your Son Jesus for coming to earth, living a perfect life that we could not, dying the death that we deserved, and rising from the dead so that we may be right with you forever. And thank you for the gift of your word. Help us to continually seek you and your will for our lives through the studying and application of your truth in your word. We love you and we thank you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thank you father for gathering us here today. We give you our praise as we worship you alone. You are worthy of our full devotion and attention and we ask that you would make your presence known to us now. As we come before you now we seek forgiveness and restoration for the ways we have knowingly and unknowingly sinned against you. At times, our shortcomings and iniquities are obvious and we are quick to seek forgiveness and you are merciful to forgive. But more often than not, we are blind to the depth of our sinful nature. We are so accustomed to our thought patterns and feelings that we fail to recognize our inability to follow your ways. We look to the world, or friends or media for validation and justification telling ourselves that we are doing better than most. But when we look to your Word, we see a different picture for you alone reveal hearts. Our eyes are opened to truth and we see our hurtful words and thoughts, our misplaced motivation and self seeking desires. Spirit, would you make us aware of those things that we don’t see? So that we would continually be putting off our old and walking freely in the newness of Christ. Father, we want to be a church that puts you on display as we become more and more like you, Jesus. Help us to put away our self motivated ambitions and desires and fill us, instead with the living water that satisfies forever! We offer ourselves up to you as we look to the one who knew no sin and offered himself for us. Thank you. Amen.

2.25.24

Our Father in Heaven, we raise our voices, our hands and our hearts in worship and awe of you, the almighty commander of angel armies, the King of kings, the Lord of lords, the Creator of all things . . . you are all-powerful, everlasting, all-knowing and ever-present. Your vastness consumes and overwhelms us. Your Word stands for all time. Your promises are as true today as when they were first spoken. You speak and it comes to pass. You say it and it is done. Father, who are we, your created beings, to question your Word? And yet we do. We have doubts that you will do what you said you will do. We question whether we can believe your promises. We live as though we are a people without hope and without a future. Lord, forgive us for taking your word too lightly or not accepting it at all. We are a forgetful people who need constant reminding and continual assurance of your truths. God, give us a deeper confidence in your promises and help us to stand on them like a solid rock. Give us such depth of wisdom and understanding that your Word affects the way we live in a real and tangible way. And fill us up so that the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in our lives flows into the lives of others around us. Lord, thank you for your Word. Thank you for fulfilling your promises through your son Jesus. In your name we pray, Amen.
