Youth Summer Opportunities

Written by: Adam Borsay, Youth Director

Summer can be a time where the craziness of family schedules and lack of a school schedule makes it a challenge to stay consistent and connected with the church. With our mission of connecting people to Jesus Christ and one another, we take the challenge of maintaining fellowship and growing opportunities for our teens very seriously. Our desire is to see summer as a chance to continue to invest in our students’ faith in unique ways.

Every month we have large group events to help our students connect with their peers and leaders, such as a trip to Cedar Point on June 6 (sign up to attend here by May 31), a summer bash and pond party at the Yoder’s on July 16, and a pool party on August 13. We also have our Sunday morning classes for middle school students during services at both our campuses each week.

During the summer, we will also be hosting regular Bible studies for all of our students. Due to summer holidays and church events they aren’t “every” Wednesday or Sunday night, but if you have, or know, a student in middle school or high school here is what we are doing with them:

High School Boys

When: June 21, June 28, July 5, July 12, July 19, July 26, August 9, and August 16

Time: 6:00pm - 8:00pm at our North Main Campus — we will cook out together at the start every week! So come hungry.

Middle School and High School Girls

When: June 21, June 28, July 5, July 19, July 26, August 9, and August 16

Time: 6:30pm - 8:00pm at our North Main Campus. There is a book the girls are using this summer and if you are able to do so please get registered here.

Middle School Boys

When: June 11, June 25, July 23, August 6, and August 20

Time: 5:00pm - 6:30pm at our County Road 9 Campus. We will be playing some fun games and having a Bible study each time we are together!

Another key way we can help our students stay connected and growing is by helping them invest in serving on Sunday mornings. Gateway Church is always looking for people to serve in a variety of roles, and our teenagers can fill many of these roles. Just ask Adam or one of our Sunday morning volunteer leaders how to plug in or sign up here.

We don’t want you to miss any of the great things our youth are involved with through the summer and into the school year. If you have not signed up to receive our weekly “Youth Parents and Friends” email please sign up here!
