Hamtramck is a city in Wayne County, MI that is surrounded almost entirely by the city of Detroit. The city covers approximately two square miles of land and it lies approximately five miles from the center of Detroit. During the past 30 years, the city has become home to immigrants from the Middle East, particularly from Yemen, as well as immigrants from South Asia, predominantly from Bangladesh. Hamtramck is extremely culturally diverse and is a predominantly Muslim community.

What we will do: The team will work with one of Gateway’s missions partners, Shakil K. in the work he is doing among the Muslim population through house churches and community projects. This trip involves a light construction projects (prior experience preferred)
Cost: TBD - includes transportation, lodging, and most meals; participants will need to cover meals during travel
