Generosity Sunday was born out of a simple desire: to help our local partners meet the real, everyday needs they see in the people they serve. Many of these organizations struggle to keep up because the cost of needed items is high, and donations from the community often fall short.
At the end of 2025, I reached out to our partners and asked a straightforward question: What do you need most? At the same time, Pastor Josh challenged us as a faith family to live out one of Gateway’s core values — generosity. Those two things came together and sparked the idea for Generosity Sunday.
Over the next year, we’ll collect specific items our partners have requested to support them as they serve on the front lines every day. This is also a way for us to care for people in our community who face real needs. Showing people that God loves them — and that we do too.
Our first Generosity Sunday was a beautiful reminder of what can happen when a community chooses to give generously and love tangibly. What started as a simple invitation to meet practical needs turned into an extraordinary outpouring of compassion. Together, you donated:
These items will go directly to individuals and families who need them most. They represent warmth, dignity, and hope — and each one reflects the heart of a church that cares deeply.
But the generosity didn’t stop there.
During the WRC Baby Bottle Drive, you gave with the same spirit of kindness and purpose. Because of your contributions, we raised an incredible $10,106.23 to support the life‑changing work WRC is doing for women, children, and families in our community. Your giving will make a real difference in the lives of people who need support, encouragement, and resources during some of their most vulnerable moments.
To every person who donated items, filled a baby bottle, or volunteered time —thank you. Your willingness to step up and give so generously is what makes this faith family special. You’ve shown that when we come together with open hands and open hearts, we can meet needs in powerful ways.
Generosity Sunday reminded us that kindness is contagious. It reminded us that small acts add up. And it reminded us that when we give together, we can make a difference that truly matters.
Thank you for showing up. Thank you for giving. Thank you for being a community that cares.
Here’s to many more moments of generosity ahead.
