Life Groups at Gateway Church are committed to the church’s mission of glorifying God by making disciples of Jesus Christ. Two primary ways of pursuing the mission are through Word-based application and caring for one another. In this article, we would like to highlight a great example of caring for one another within a Gateway Life Group.
Bill and Stacey Foor are Gateway members who are also members of a muti-generational Life Group. Bill has been experiencing health challenges which have made it difficult to navigate stairs - such as the ones that lead up to the front door of their home. When their Life Group became aware of this difficulty, they found a ramp for sale. One of the members of the Life Group contacted the Gateway deacons about helping with the cost of the ramp, and they were able to help. The men in the Life Group removed the ramp from the seller’s home and installed the ramp at the Foor home. Stacey reports “it has been great to be able to wheel Bill up and down the ramp to take him places!”. To God be the glory for the caring and service that was shown through this project! Thank you to Stacey and Bill for sharing their story with us.
As always, we love to hear stories about how Life Groups have glorified God through caring for each other and how members are growing in wisdom and faith through the study and application of God’s Word. We have been encouraged recently by several Gateway members who have stepped up into Life Group leadership, fulfilling needs for those seeking the community of Life Groups. Glory to God for his continuing work in our Gateway family!
