8.9.26

Heavenly Father, we adore you. When we pause to consider your greatness and majesty, the works of your hands, and the lengths you have gone to pursue us and save us, we are filled with awe. We are humbled, overwhelmed, and deeply moved by your love. Your love for us is beyond what our human minds can comprehend. You freely gave your Son for us—sinful, fickle, disobedient, and prone to wander—knowing full well who we are and yet choosing to love us still. This is a love that transcends our understanding. It is deep, jealous, steadfast, and perfect. We are broken vessels, often cracked in ways that seem impossible to put back together. And yet, you desire nothing more than for us to surrender our hearts to you, to follow you, and to be yours. You call us beloved. What an incredible gift! What a treasure! It moves us to praise you and to give you thanks. Jesus, please forgive us for the ways we fail you—for the ways we fail to live in the freedom of the love you have offered us. As the Apostle Paul wrote in Romans, “For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate.” Lord, even our prayers and our pleas for forgiveness can be tainted by selfishness, pride, and idolatry. Forgive us. Search our hearts and reveal anything within us that keeps us from fully surrendering to you. Holy Spirit, help us to become pure in heart. Give us a deeper desire to know you intimately and to make you known to others. May our lives reflect the love and grace we have received from you. And Spirit, please keep our hearts ever mindful of the weight of sin, the gift of salvation, the glory of Christ, the beauty of holiness, and the immeasurable wonder of your grace. Lord, we love you. We thank you. And we praise you for the hope we have because of all that you have done for us. It is in your beautiful and holy name that we pray. Amen.

8.16.26

Heavenly Father, to you we lift our voices and our hearts; we offer praise and thanksgiving for all you have done for us, knowing we could never thank you enough. You bless us beyond measure. Your grace and mercy follow us all of our days but we acknowledge that we are a bit callous to the forgiveness that we have received through you, Jesus. We are callous to our need for repentance and forgiveness. We are eager to come to you with our needs and wants. We are eager to seek your wisdom and guidance. But there is oftentimes a reluctance to come as the sinner completely dependent on your forgiveness. We keep you at arm's length because we don’t perceive ourselves as the ones who are all that bad- after all, look at what those other people are guilty of; I am not as bad as that person. We have a thin understanding of our hearts and the smaller our perception of our sin, the smaller our Savior and our love for you. Please forgive us. Help us, Holy Spirit, to be humbled by the knowledge that we are indebted to you beyond measure. For though we seek to compare and measure our sin against our neighbor, there is no measuring tool that suffices. You are full of wisdom and you are ready to give and care for your children, but do we love you for you? Do we love you apart from all the wonderful blessings and the gifts you have given us? In your mercy, awaken our hearts to our need for a Savior, not just a wonderful teacher or example for us to follow. Give us a deep understanding of sin, not to bring us to despair but to bring us to your precious feet, where we offer up all that we have because you are far more beautiful than anything we possess. Thank you for the one that knew no sin, yet became sin for us. It is him we worship and adore here today. We love you, Jesus. Amen.

8.23.26

Heavenly Father, we come before your throne this morning, singing your praises, declaring your greatness and giving you all the glory.  We want to lift your name high and keep it holy and we want to see your kingdom come, Father. For you alone are high above all else, you are the creator of all things and the giver of all good gifts. Thank you for sending the Holy Spirit to be our helper and our guide. We ask, Holy Spirit, that you fill this place right now with your presence. Fill our hearts and our minds with the heart and mind of our Father. Give us ears to hear your word and eyes to see others as you see them. Use your word to impart wisdom and understanding upon us. We confess that we are quickly distracted and we often forget your word as soon as we hear it. We are easily ensnared by everyday life and we find ourselves getting caught up in the temporary worries of this world. Holy Spirit, plant your word deep inside us and help us to see everything through the lens of eternity. Help us to love others as you love us and help us to forgive others as you forgive us. We thank you for the work you have already done in our lives, we thank you for the work you are doing in our lives and we thank you for the work you will do in our lives. It’s in your holy name that we pray, Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you recognizing how easily our hearts can become distracted by the things of this world. We confess that oftentimes we measure our lives by what worldly possessions we have and can gain, rather than by our relationship with you. We chase after things that promise satisfaction, but they always leave us wanting more.
Lord, help us to remember that everything is a gift from you, and that our worth is found in you, not in what we own or accomplish. In our worry, remind us your faithful care for all that you have created. Give us hearts that trust you, even when we don’t understand your plans. Make us rich not in possessions, but in generosity, gratitude, and love. And help us to recognize the abundance of which you have already provided for us. Father, make our hearts like yours. Help us to leave behind the worldly things that pull us away from you. May our lives point not at our worldly worth, but towards you. In your name we pray, Amen.
