Corporate Prayers July 2026

7.12.26
Loving Father, you are holy, righteous, and full of steadfast love. We praise you for who you are- for your tender and unfailing love. Just as a loving father has compassion on his children, so you have compassion on those who fear you. And as a mother gently comforts and cares for her child, so you surround us with your mercy, patience, and faithful care.
Father, we confess that we so often sin against you in thought, word, and deed. We love our own ways more than yours, we speak carelessly, we place our trust in ourselves and follow the ways of the world- “following our hearts” rather than surrendering our lives and plans to the One who created the very cells in our hearts- and who created our hearts to yearn for oneness with you- our perfect Creator. Forgive us of our sins, and by your Spirit, grant us hearts that truly repent and joyfully follow you.
Jesus thank you that through your work on the Cross there is full forgiveness for all who turn to you in faith. Thank you that your grace is greater than our sin, that your mercies are new every morning, and that there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ. We rejoice that you receive all who come to you with humble and repentant hearts. 
Spirit, we pray that your presence would be overwhelmingly evident with us this morning. Soften our hearts and help us to come willingly and often to you to confess our sins. Reveal any areas of our lives that are not pleasing to you and replace our hearts of stone with hearts that beat solely to worship you and give you glory in and through all that we do! 
Father, many among us this morning are weary, grieving, anxious, lonely, or burdened by trials. Our world is so stained with sin and we are left with the painful remnants of both our own sins and the sins of others. Please be near to us. Remind us all that you are near to the brokenhearted and that nothing can separate us from your love in Christ Jesus. 
Father, may the fruit of repentance be evident in our homes, our conversations, our workplaces, and in our church. Let our love for Christ be seen in our love for one another and in our witness to the world.  Make us a congregation marked by holiness, humility, truth, service, and joy. Keep us steadfast until the day we stand before you, clothed not in our own righteousness but in the righteousness of Christ, and help us to daily surrender all that we are to your will. We ask all of this in the powerful name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. And all God’s children said together- Amen.

Merciful Father, we praise you with our song and our spirit. We ask now that you would hear our prayer,- hear our hearts as we come before you. Help us to be honest with you and with ourselves as we seek to confess sins that keep us from deeper fellowship with you and with one another. Let your Holy Spirit probe our hearts now and shine a light into the places that we ignore and tuck away. Pause God you created and then you rested. Your care and mercy for us is made evident through your command to rest. What other god commands rest? They instead demand unrest. The world bombards us by the command to work. Work harder, work smarter. Make more. Do more. Prove your worth. Prove your value. And we as your followers have let this bondage creep into our hearts. Not only do we carry this burden in our daily lives, but it has informed our theology.  Our sinful imaginations can’t fathom a world of “it is finished” so we create “to do” lists and measuring tools to prove ourselves worthy of your salvation.  Our self imposed checklist is to assure ourselves that we are good. Good enough to go to heaven. Good enough to be loved by you. Please forgive us. For you do not love us according to our work. You do not save us according to our efforts. We are also guilty of imposing these standards on our sisters and brothers. Measuring them by our flawed weights and balances. We confess that it makes us feel justified and righteous for at least we are doing better than our neighbor.  We care more about our perceived holiness than our brother and sister. We miss the heart of your commands, we miss your heart. Forgive us for reducing your law to an attainable set of standards that  we can neatly follow for that was never the point. Only one has ever been able to accomplish this and it is he that we worship here today. Thank you Jesus for finishing what we could never finish. Thank you for your mercy and the rest that we now have as we trust in you alone for our salvation. Help us to rest in you. Amen.

Lord, in our praises and our songs, we often read the lyrics with our eyes and sing the words with our lips without letting their meaning reach our hearts, so we want to ascribe to you worthiness and glory by echoing the attributes we just sang about . . . You are our vision . . . You are our best thought . . . You are our light . . . You are our wisdom . . . You are our true word . . . You are our great Father . . . You are our inheritance . . . You are our high king . . . You are our treasure . . . You are ruler of all.
Holy God, you said that you are the Light of the World, yet we still refuse to let you into the darkest places of our lives. You said that you are the Good Shepherd, but we fail to follow where you lead.  We are sheep that have gone astray. You said that you are the bread of life, but we seek out other things to satisfy us. You said that you are the Way, but we often make our own paths. You said that you are the Truth, but we find ways to deceive ourselves and others. You said that you are Life.  Forgive us and help us to embrace the mercy, forgiveness and grace that you offer us so that we can have an abundant life with you.
We thank you for the love you have shown us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
We ask that you give us the eyes of Christ, so that we clearly see the lost as our mission field, to whom we must show the same grace and mercy that you have shown us. We pray this in your name, Amen.
