Corporate Prayers May 2025

5.4.25

Holy Father, we are grateful you’ve brought us together as your people in worship. This gathering, it’s such a gift and a blessing. It’s a time where we can all take a moment and breathe deeply the goodness of the Gospel. Our days, our weeks are so wearying and this world is such a burdensome and tiring place at times. With so much fighting for our attention, it’s easy to miss how great a need there is for mercy. It’s easy to miss those around us who are worn out, worried, scared, hungry, lonely, rudderless, sick, addicted, and, dare I say, hopeless. People who just need mercy. And we hold on to it, like a scarce commodity. As if showing mercy would somehow project that we’re weak. Father, forgive us. Forgive us for being a people who’ve been shown an endless stream of mercy, and somehow seem to hoard it. Forgive us for being more afraid of appearing weak, than we are of offending you with our callousness towards one another. Spirit, help us to show mercy towards one another. And not only to those we know, but to the strangers in our lives as well. We’re never truly attuned to the needs of the people we encounter on a daily basis, so, Spirit, open our hearts to be ever-ready to show grace, kindness, empathy, and mercy to those who need it, for Christ’s glory. It’s in the glorious name of Jesus Christ we have gathered and in his name we pray all these things, Amen.

5.11.25

Heavenly Father, we come before you today in awe of your greatness, your holiness, and your unchanging love. You are the one who calls us to love with sincerity, to hate what is evil, and to hold fast to what is good. Your Word is life to us, and we worship you because of who you are! We honor you as the giver of all good things, and we marvel at the example of love you have shown us in Christ, who gave himself for us while we were still sinners.

Lord, your love is steadfast and pure, and your mercy never fails. We give you all glory and praise for the beauty of unity you call us into, for the joy of serving one another, and for the fellowship that we share in the body of Christ. May our lives reflect the love and humility that you have shown us.

Jesus, we come to you now with humble hearts, acknowledging our failure to live up to your high calling. We confess that we have not always loved genuinely. We have often been quick to repay evil for evil, rather than overcoming evil with good. We have neglected to honor others above ourselves, and we have failed to rejoice with those who rejoice or weep with those who weep. We confess that at times our hearts have grown cold, and we have failed to care for those in need. So often our eyes have been fixed on ourselves rather than fixing our gaze on you. Forgive us, Lord.

Cleanse us from all unrighteousness and purify our hearts. Restore in us a spirit of love, humility, and unity, that we might live in a way that pleases You and reflects Your character to the world.

Though we have fallen short in so many ways, Jesus you have paid the penalty for our sins and reconciled us to the Father. Thank you for your forgiveness and the assurance that God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In Christ, we are made new.

Spirit, help us to fix our eyes upon you and to live our lives with an eternal perspective, striving for nothing else but to better know you and to make you known. Lord we love you, we thank you, and we ask all of these things in the Name of your beautiful Son, Jesus, and all of God’s children said together- Amen!

5.18.25

Glorious Father, rich in mercy, abounding in steadfast love and kindness. We sing now as a foretaste of forever. Where we will sing with full knowledge of you and these words won’t be just words but a full understanding and experience of the great God you are. For we are bound by our limited understanding and thoughts of you. We confess that oftentimes our thoughts are small. We confess that we are not in awe of you as we ought to be and perhaps this is why we neglect to share your good news. For we walk among the hurting, the lonely, and the suffering everyday and they are desperate to hear that there is hope, light, comfort, provision and that his name is Jesus Christ. Forgive us for the missed opportunities that you have laid in our path. For the times we hurried off instead of engaging in the conversation, for the moments we walked a different route to avoid the needy coworker, for the times we were too self conscious to speak truth. Forgive us. Holy Spirit, burn within our hearts to make us so deeply in love with you that we cannot help but tell them about your great love. Jesus, thank you that you never overlooked a hurting soul, you never avoided the needy, in fact you say come to me. You welcome the weak, the poor, the humble. Help us to see that that is us. We have nothing to offer. We bring nothing to the table. And yet, you invite us over and over again. Help us to love others as you have loved us. Amen

5.25.25

Heavenly Father, we come before you once again today, in awe and adoration of you. You are the one from whom all blessings flow. You provide every good pleasure in our lives and every good thing leads us back to you if we let it. If our hearts are open to your spirit, we can feel your tender care in our parents' embrace, we can see your deep love in our spouses’ eyes, we can hear your joy in our children’s laughter, we can enjoy your creativity in a stroll through the woods or a walk on the beach. And while each of these things is good and right, they still only give us a glimpse of who you are. Father, how we long to be with you . . . just to be in your presence, Lord. We want more of you, God.

Father, forgive us for the things we do that make us imperfect. Forgive us for the things we do that separate us from you and make it impossible for us to be in your presence on our own accord. We confess that we have sinned and we repent of the wicked things we have done. Lord, we are sorry.

Thank you for sending your son, Jesus, to die as the perfect sacrifice to cover all of our wrongdoing . . . to take all of the punishment that we deserve and to stand in our place before you when you look upon us. Father, what an amazing gift you have given us in your Son, Jesus. We do not deserve such riches as you have lavished on us.

Please help us on our journey through this life and into the life that is to come. Help us to become more like Jesus every day. Sanctify us in every way. Refine us in your fire, until we become the people you want us to be. Now, shape us through the hearing and receiving of your word this morning. We pray all these things in your name, Amen.
