5.10.26
Heavenly Father, we praise you because you are good, loving, and powerful. Thank you for creating us and caring for us every day. Lord, forgive us for the times we disobey you, hurt others, or forget to trust you. Help us to follow you in all that we do. Thank you Jesus, for our families and friends, and for all the blessings you give us each day. On this Mother’s Day, we especially thank you for our mothers and all of the women who love, care for, teach, and encourage us. Thank you for the ways they show kindness, humility, and strength; and how they show us your love. Please help us love you and love others well. Purify our hearts and minds and help us to draw nearer to you each and every day! Spirit, help us shine your light everywhere we go—at work, school, at home, on the playground, and in our neighborhoods. Help us use kind words, helping hands, and loving hearts so others can see you in us. May our lives shine brightly for you so others will know how wonderful you are. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father we praise you for your faithfulness, your power and your majesty. We praise you for your perfect and righteous judgment. You are the lawmaker and the only one who has kept the law. We look to you now for wisdom and mercy. We ask, Spirit, that you would make us aware of the ways that we have not loved you or our neighbor as we should. Lord as we sing the words that your praise will ever be on our lips we can’t help but acknowledge that this is not the reality at times. The truth is that often times, it is the opposite of praise that flows so easily from our mouths. Instead it is judgment, bitterness, envy, slander. We seek to elevate ourselves while crushing others, even those we call brothers and sisters here among us. We put ourselves in the seat of judgment, criticizing and condemning one another despite our inability to see their motives and hearts as you do. Forgive our desire to cast down a verdict, declaring others guilty while we neglect our own hearts. It is an ancient condition, the created wanting to be the creator. Help us to trust you for you are the lawgiver and the only perfect judge. You have perfect knowledge of our motives and intentions and you respond with love and grace when we fail. Help us to show the same love and grace to one another, especially within our church family. Help us to build up the body, not tear down and cause disunity. Give us words of life and blessing just as you speak to us, Jesus. Thank you for your forgiveness. May our hearts be lifted and filled with the joy of repentance. Amen.

Father in Heaven, our great Creator and King, our Protector, Provider and Healer, we offer our praise to you right now, in this moment. We are small and weak and insignificant, but you are big and mighty and of the utmost significance and you have created us in your image, so we humbly offer the only thing that is fit for you, our perfect King, and that is our worship. We glorify your holy name with all our heart, soul and strength. Lord, we confess today that the pride and arrogance in our heart often cause us to fail to worship and obey you perfectly. God, you know the sinful nature that we carry within us, which causes us to put ourselves above you and think that we can rely on our own strength, on our own knowledge, on our own skills, on our own finances. Lord, whatever it may be, it’s that something we choose to put in place of you, it is an idol. Please forgive us. Father, help us to live solely dependent upon you. Help us to live by your every word. We thank you, for sending your Son as the perfect sacrifice to satisfy your wrath against our sin. In your perfect foresight, you knew we would be a sinful and imperfect people, incapable of perfectly keeping your covenantal law. Thank you for making another way for us to be reconciled to you. It is only by your grace and mercy expressed through Jesus that we can have hope and faith that we will one day be in your presence for eternity. We pray this in your name, Amen.
