Gateway Church Staff will NEVER:
- Ask you to purchase gift cards or send money through email or text.
- Request personal or financial details in this way.
- Use a personal email address for official communication. (for example: @yahoo.com, @gmail.com, @hotmail.com, etc.)
How to recognize a scam:
- The sender email address does not match our official church domain.
- The message creates personal urgency (“I need help right away!”).
- The tone feels unusual or out of character for Gateway Church Staff.
What to do if you receive one:
- Do not reply to the message.
- Do not click any links or attachments.
- Report it immediately to the church office or the Communication Team.
- Delete the message.
Remember: If it looks suspicious, it’s not from Gateway Church Staff. If you are questioning an email or text, please call the church office (419-423-5947).
