Bowling Green Campus Update

At Gateway, we have a vision to be a going church and part of how we have done that over the years is by sending staff and members to launch new campuses, first at North Main, and more recently in Bowling Green. Any time we launch a new campus, our desire is to see it gain momentum and thrive in its unique context. There are many risks and unknowns when we start, and we do our best to move forward in faith while also knowing that it just may not work at the time. No one could have predicted the difficult circumstances of 2020 or how those circumstances would affect the momentum of a brand new Gateway campus. At this month’s Session meeting the elders discussed the future of our Bowling Green campus and have decided that due to a variety of circumstances, now is not the time for us to try and continue a campus in Bowling Green. We don't need to view this as a forever or permanent decision, but rather a "for now" decision. Because we remain committed to being a going and sending church, at some point in the future Session may be open to discussing the possibility of a Bowling Green campus again.

We want to thank Mike and Lindsay and the launch team who have spent countless hours getting the campus up and running. They have been faithful to what they committed to, working to create a thriving campus in Bowling Green, and this decision is in no way a reflection on their efforts and sacrifice. Over the past year and a half we have learned much that we trust will help us continue to carry out God’s mission for Gateway, connecting people to Jesus Christ and to one another.
