Corporate Prayers August 2025

8.3.25

Lord you spoke and the world began. You breathed a word and the stars were born. You fill the rivers and seas with water and so you fill our hearts with your presence. You bring life, goodness, joy, and abundance to all creation. Life does not exist with your provision. Let us rightly fear you and stand in awe of you, our King. For many presidents, governors, kings and queens will come and go but you are eternal. We find great peace and comfort that you are sovereign over all of authority on this earth. But when it comes to our hearts we aren’t as easily swayed to give up the throne. We want you to be king of the universe, as long as we dictate our lives. You take care of the big things, we will take care of the everyday things is what we believe in practice. But you call us to submission in all things. For we are members of your heavenly kingdom and every aspect of our lives is to be surrendered to you. From the mundane tasks of dishes to enduring persecution, our souls belong to you. Forgive us and help us to give up the throne of our hearts and allow you to rule over them. For your burden is light and your yoke is easy. You are the perfect king and our good shepherd. We are most content abiding in you. Amen

8.10.25

Father God, you are good, you are powerful, and you are near. You created the heavens, called us by name, and sent your Son to redeem what was lost. Jesus, you are the light of the world, the hope of every heart, and the name above every name. We lift you high today- not just for what you’ve done, but for who you are. You are worthy of all praise, now and forever! Today we come before you and humbly confess that we have not always lived as people on mission. We’ve been distracted by lesser things, silent when we should have spoken, and often more concerned with our comfort than with the salvation of others. Forgive us, Lord, of this navel gazing. Forgive our indifference, our fear, and our forgetfulness of your calling. Renew our hearts with compassion. Help us to see our neighbors, our friends, even strangers, the way you see them. God, we thank you for the gospel- the good news that Jesus saves! Thank you for rescuing us, forgiving us, and calling us into your family. Thank you for the people who shared your love with us whether parents, friends, pastors, or strangers. We’re grateful that you use ordinary people to do extraordinary work for your kingdom. Thank you for the freedom we have in Christ and the joy of knowing we’re never alone. Spirit, we ask that you would send us into our communities, into our workplaces, into every place where people need to know you. Give us boldness to speak, courage to love, and wisdom to listen. We pray that our church would be a light in this city- a place where the lost are welcomed, the hurting are healed, and the gospel is always on our lips. We pray for those who don’t yet know you- our family, our friends, our neighbors. Open their hearts, soften their minds, and draw them to you, Jesus. Use us, Lord- to shine your light to all of those around us. We ask all of this in the name above every name- Jesus Christ our Lord. And all God’s children said together…Amen.

8.24.25

Father, our great Redeemer, our glorious Savior, Light of the morning . You are the light of the world. We read in Genesis where you created light by merely speaking the words, “let there be light”, and there was light, and it was good. And we also read about the rest of creation and how it was good. Lord, what an awesome, powerful creator you are. Thank you for making us in your image. But then, Father, we read about how the first humans failed to follow your law and ultimately brought sin into this world. They brought darkness back into the world after you had perfected it with your light. And God, we don’t blame them for bringing the curse of sin upon the rest of us, for we know that we would have given into temptation and been the first to sin, just as they did, if we were in their place. For we confess, that our hearts are prideful and we are full of ourselves, Lord. Please forgive us for following our own sinful desires and not yours. And after a long period of darkness, brought on by our sinfulness, we read in the gospel of John, that Jesus was with you in the beginning, that creation was made through him, that life was in him, that his life was the light of men and that darkness did not overcome his light. Father, what a glorious miracle you performed by sending your son to us on earth and reintroducing your light to the world. Your light has dawned on us once again and is continually growing until Jesus returns and the fullness of his light completely destroys the darkness once and for all. Father, we so look forward to that day. But in the meantime, we ask that you sustain us on our journey through life. We ask that you continue to refine us into the vessels that you want us to be and that you use us for your glory, however you see fit. It’s in your glorious name we pray, Amen.

8.31.25

Father, you are holy. You are above all, in all and through all. You are glorious. Let our hearts be filled by the knowledge of your beauty, majesty and grace. Father, you are gracious beyond measure and so is our capacity to sin. And if it weren’t for your merciful hand of restraint, we would just continue down the road of destruction chasing after what we believe will make us content. Forgive our fickle hearts. They drift back and forth between trusting you or trusting the idol of the moment. Help us to fully surrender. Help us to fully believe that one day in your presence is better than anything that we could possibly imagine here. You give us all we need and although it may not be what we desire. It is always good. When we are tempted, remind us of your goodness and love. Let it be your kindness that leads us to repentance. Holy Spirit, we ask that moments of anger would turn to patience, let moments of pain turn to endurance. Let moments of worry turn to perseverance. Let moments of disbelief turn to belief. For we know that you are able. You are able to turn all things for our good. Even our sin. And so we surrender all to you Lord Jesus. Amen.
