9.13.26
Father, we praise you and give you thanks that we are able to gather here today. We thank you for what it represents: that your church is alive, your kingdom is here, and you reign over all of it. Your word will not fail, your plans cannot be thwarted, your Kingdom come. Your Kingdom come despite our mortal lens that cannot see all you are doing. Your Kingdom is moving and growing, and we have the privilege to be a member. You call us to search for your Kingdom, to pursue it, to long for it more than anything else in this world. We long for many, many things. When we want something, we chase after it. We remove obstacles to get it. We alter our habits, our schedule, our bank accounts for the things we desire, but do we desire your Kingdom in our hearts this way? Through your Spirit, we ask that you would now reveal to us those things that we have sought first. (Pause) Where do we seek first our comfort, our pleasure, our success, our happiness? Have we missed your Kingdom in the midst of our self-seeking? We so often live life backwards. Seeking the tangible gifts from you first, while your Kingdom is a lingering afterthought. Forgive us. Help us to reprioritize, to shift our gaze. Spirit, only you can make this change in our hearts. Only you can realign our priorities. Help us to put our allegiance in the only Kingdom that stands forever and to long for the beautiful, eternal, invisible upside-down Kingdom you have called us to. Help us to believe that all we have and all we need will be given to us in Christ Jesus. And Jesus, thank you for showing us your Kingdom and for ushering us into it through your death and resurrection. It is only through you that we have eyes to see and ears to hear. Bless our time together as we lift you high here today. Amen

Father, we come before you this morning desperate to hear you speak truth to our hearts. We recognize you as creator of all things, as all-powerful and as all-knowing.  We long for your truth to shine a light into the darkness of our world... to eliminate chaos and bring order... to expose lies and untruths in ourselves and in others... to provide clarity to our thoughts... to vanquish our enemies... to give us wisdom for living in the light. We confess that we often fail to seek the truth, Father. Most of the time we assume we have everything figured out, that we can handle things on our own, that we fully understand the truth. How quickly we get lost in the darkness and confusion caused by sin and Satan. How easily we fall into his trap, time and time again. Forgive us, for not seeking your word. We thank you for the blood of the Lamb that washes away all our failures. Please let us hear your word with clarity today and continue to remind us to seek your truth so that we may live for your glory. In your name we pray, Amen.

Heavenly Father, we praise you this morning for who you are—the Creator of all things. You know us completely: our thoughts, our motives, and every detail of our lives. You formed each of us in our mothers’ wombs, wonderfully crafting us and breathing life into our lungs. Everything we have comes from you. You are loving, faithful, and good. As we gather, we seek to glorify you and rehearse the truths of the gospel, so that our hearts and minds may be fixed on you alone—today and every day. Heavenly Father, though we were lost in sin, you met us with great love and mercy. Through Jesus, you gave us new life and saved us by grace—not because of anything we had done, but because of your goodness. May our lives reflect the kindness and beauty of our grace. This gospel truth fills us with joy, gratitude, and worship. When we consider the depth of Your saving grace, our hearts should respond freely and wholeheartedly. Yet we confess that fear, insecurity, and apathy often keep us from doing so. Too often, we go through the motions and remain at the surface in our relationship with, and worship of You. We reduce daily Bible reading and spiritual disciplines to tasks, as though they could earn the grace you have freely given us in Christ. We fill our days with activities, yet still feel empty. We compare our careers, finances, families, homes, and possessions with those of others, while endless distractions promise a contentment they cannot provide. Forgive us, Lord. Teach us to find our true contentment in you, to follow you faithfully, and to trust your wise and gracious plan for each of us. Holy Spirit, we yield ourselves to you. Keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, and teach us to trust and follow him in seasons of joy and abundance as well as sorrow and need. Strengthen us to live worthy of your calling, so that our lives may reflect your grace and bring you glory. We ask all of this in the beautiful Name of Jesus our Lord, and all God’s children said together... Amen!
