Go Pathway

Written by: Ashley, Go Director

On October 1, 2024 I stepped into the role of Go Director here at Gateway Church and on December 29, 2024 we were all commissioning K & B to Central Asia to represent Christ in a dark land. Why would we do that? Because our God is a sending God. You can see it throughout scripture. Abraham was sent to be a blessing to the nations. Moses was sent to rescue the Israelites. Judges and prophets were sent to turn Israel back to God. The early church at Antioch carried on God’s example and sent their own to reach others in far away lands. We, Gateway Church, want to do the same. We want to be disciples who make disciples for the Kingdom of God, to the glory of God! We want to be a body that goes into the world to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.

How can we do this? Well, prior to my entry, this is the question K was asking and pursuing. How do we, Gateway Church, participate in God’s mission and heart of all tribes, people, tongues, and languages being ushered into the Kingdom of God? We pray. We give. We encourage. We participate. We go. And we send.. We want to be a sending church, one who sends our own members to go to those who have not yet heard, like K & B. Which brings me to our ‘how’, Gateway’s Go Pathway. This Go Pathway exists to provide an intentional guide for those who seek to discover and follow God’s calling and purpose for their involvement in a Go related ministry/capacity.

Dorie is someone who has gotten to experience some of the Go Pathway as she prepares to go to the Middle East this October for a year long venture program through Pioneers. Pioneers mobilizes gospel-driven Christians to make disciples and plant churches among the unreached. With over three thousand members serving in 101 countries, Pioneers teams serve among peoples and in places with little or no access to the gospel. Through Pioneers’ Venture program, Dorie will be interning with a missions team whose focus is on creating online Biblical resources and building relationships with people in the city in which they’re located. To find out more about their organization, please visit pioneers.org. If you’d like to hear more about this, please reach out to Dorie personally! She will also have a table in the lobby to share at our Country Road 9 Campus on September 14 and then at our North Main Campus on September 21.

If this is something you would like to learn more about as you discern what/where God might be calling you, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me personally or our church office to set up a time!

“When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” Matthew 9:36-38
