New Resource Highlight

Written by: Joe, Life Group Director

We’ve just ordered another book for the church library that we’re really excited about! It’s called Instruments in the Redeemer’s Hands by Paul David Tripp. If you’ve ever wondered how to really help someone who’s struggling, or even how to open up about your own needs, this book is a must-read.

One of our Life Group values at Gateway Church is Caring for One Another. That’s not always easy, right? Sometimes we’re not sure what to say, or we worry about saying the wrong thing. But what Tripp reminds us is that caring for others doesn’t have to be complicated. In fact, God designed each of us to play a part in his work of changing lives. As Tripp puts it, we’re all “people in need of change helping people in need of change.”

What makes this book so powerful is how practical it is. It’s not just theory or theology. It’s filled with stories, real examples, and clear guidance on how to walk with people through everyday struggles with grace and truth. It helps us see that caring for others isn’t about fixing anyone. It’s about bringing the gospel into our relationships and pointing one another to Jesus.

This would be a great study for Life Groups, but it could also be good for mentorships or even a couple of friends who just want to grow together. Each chapter ends with thoughtful questions that make it easy to discuss as a group and apply in real life.

If your group is looking for something that will help you grow closer and care for one another in deeper, more intentional ways, this is a great place to start. You can check out a copy of Instruments in the Redeemer’s Hands from the church library starting this week to see if this is something you’d like to study.

Let’s keep becoming a community that doesn’t just meet together, but truly walks with one another as God’s instruments of grace.
