Women's Resource Center Update

Written by: Kristin Sharpe

The 2023 Women's Resource Center Annual Fundraiser was an amazing success. We are giving thanks to God for all his continuous blessings on WRC, our clients, and the generous partners we had the opportunity to spend the evening with at the Hancock Hotel. Everyone was deeply moved and encouraged by guest speaker, Steventhen Holland – and we were able to send him home “empty handed” thanks to all who bought his book, The Journey: Brokeness to Wholeness (Holland, 2015). Stevethen’s story is an incredible message about the value of life regardless of how it’s conceived. He shared his adoption story involving his mentally challenged mother choosing life after an assault. He continues to share his story to spread hope and restoration because he personally understands how important this battle is. Thank you to everyone who attended our event, for supporting the mission of WRC, and the generous donations we received. Because of you, WRC was able to raise $145,000 at the Annual Fundraiser! These donations will allow our team to grow our programs and continue to serve our community. If interested in learning more about WRC please contact the center and schedule a tour. Thank you all once again for such a great night.

The above paragraph gives a great summary of the evening and exactly how beneficial it was to the Women’s Resource Center. We’d also like to highlight specifically how much of a blessing our Gateway Church community was to us. Not only was it our most profitable annual fundraiser financially speaking, it also had one of the highest attendance rate from our Gateway Church family! We cannot thank you all enough for being there for our ministry in this way. You truly are showing how much you support life from womb to tomb when you partner with us in such a way. Not only did 73 members attend, but we also had a good amount of people from Gateway Church who volunteered to make sure our event ran smoothly. This included people who took care of and organized the centerpieces and additional decor, ran our tech slides and sound, ushered guests to their tables, helped with set up and tear down and lead us in prayer before dinner. Our volunteers are crucial to the productivity of the Center. Please check out the many additional ways you can partner with WRC, here. Again, we appreciate your contribution to an evening spent making sure WRC continues to be an option in Hancock County to love on, spread the gospel and educate the women, children, and families in the Findlay area.
